Embracing God’s Perfect Fatherhood
This session draws the Father theme together by inviting trust, forgiveness, and identity to settle deeply — not as ideas to master, but as realities to live from.
Scripture Focus
Romans 8:15
"For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”"

A. Trusting God as our Father
Trust grows where character is revealed.
Embracing God’s fatherhood requires releasing distorted expectations shaped by human experience and allowing God to define Himself through His faithfulness and consistency.
Trust deepens as we encounter God not merely as authority, but as a Father whose heart is good.
Learning to trust God as Father stabilises faith and anchors hope.
B. Receiving God’s forgiveness
Forgiveness is not something we merely believe in — it is something we receive.
Many people affirm forgiveness theologically while resisting it personally. God’s fatherly forgiveness does not revisit past failures or hold grudges.
Receiving forgiveness allows shame to loosen its grip and restores confidence in relationship.
A forgiven child stands freely in the presence of the Father.

C. Living as God’s child
Identity shapes behaviour.
Living as God’s child means relating to Him from belonging rather than fear, and approaching life from security rather than striving.
As children of God, we are invited to live openly, confidently, and authentically — not proving worth, but expressing it.
Sonship transforms obedience from obligation into joy.
A Song to Sit With This Week
This session is paired with a song that reflects belonging, trust, and identity.
As you listen, allow it to reinforce this truth:
You are not a servant trying to earn approval.
You are a child who belongs.
